FONDAZIONE GIOVANNI AGNELLI

In 2013, the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation became a Strategic Partner of the University by establishing the Avvocato Giovanni Agnelli Associate Professorship in Economics. On the tenth anniversary of the passing of the Italian lawyer, the Foundation decided to invest in this important project to promote the best young talents engaged in research on applied economics. It is an endowed Professorship assigned every five years to a Bocconi professor with an undisputed reputation in their area and whose research interests include applied economics. The first holder of the Professorship was Chiara Fumagalli, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, followed by Francesco Decarolis, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. His research area is Empirical Industrial Organization and Market Design, which analyzes the functioning of markets and designs innovative solutions to promote competition and social wellbeing, with a particular focus on Public Procurement, Health Insurance Markets and Digital Markets and Online Marketing.

Through the funding of the Professorship, the Agnelli Foundation has been helping the University for years to attract the best figures in the field of scientific research and contributing to the advancement of applied economics studies on major issues affecting business.
