Joint Purpose

Luxottica has built on the Corporate Associates Program, consolidating its relationship of mutual trust with our University. It is further strengthened through the support of Bocconi students and graduates, for whom Luxottica has been a top employer for many years. Starting in 2019, the Luxottica Chair in Chinese Market & Business Development was established, assigned to Professor Fabrizio Perretti. This new academic position promotes Bocconi research focused on Asian markets, and China in particular, and contributes significantly to the development of knowledge and innovation in this field. Luxottica's fundamental support and this new collaboration will be highly significant for both organizations, as well as an example for many far-sighted companies mindful of promoting human capital.

Core Activities

Research

Given China's importance globally and the fact that working with Chinese companies has become commonplace for the vast majority of managers in Western countries, the Chair aims to understand, from a business perspective, changes in the future of the region and, directly and indirectly, other economies and countries, with a focus on Europe and Italy. The Chair will also address the need to better comprehend the social and economic contexts in China and Asia in general, the importance of involving local communities and generating innovative approaches to clients, which take different cultural perspectives into account.

Students

The Chair includes activities for students on topics such as marketing and consumer behavior, digital issues, data analytics, retail management, corporate strategy and international finance on national and international levels and for the Chinese market.

In particular, each semester a Challenge is organized that involves students with close collaboration with international programs and students in China, in particular China-MIM, the Double Degree with Fudan University.

Dissemination

The Chair's activities are enriched by the dissemination of Professor Perretti's research results, thanks to his participation in seminars and conferences organized by the most prestigious academic and institutional entities.
